  • Click on the analytics studio
  • Select create dashboard
  • Choose a blank dashboard in the designer section
  • Your dashboard is ready
  • Now you can show the data in the form of graphs and can use various charts such as pie, funner, horizontal, or vertical

How to deploy the Einstein Analytics dashboard?

You are not expected to manually copy and then paste the data. If you’re doing this in Salesforce, you’ll be supported with various metadata APIs, which you can use to deploy numerous components in one go. Some of the tools which can help you in deploying the metadata are workbench, eclipse, visual studio code, changesets and more.

You will have to use two orgs. The first org will be your retrieval source, and the other will be for your deployment. You can simply do the data retrieval from one and then deploy it in the other org. Ensure that your retrieval/deployment has managed analytics and API enabled, and then check if it has modified all data permits to ensure successful deployment.

Since salesforce is quite brilliant, it will inform you first-hand if there’s any deployment error. For example, if there’s an error, you will receive an error notification saying ‘no dataset found’. If there’s an error, check it thoroughly and then restart the process. Not that you have the metadata in your zip folder or in target org, you are ready to begin.

Create, retrieve and now deploy

Please note that you can deploy the majority of the dataset but not all, as some might need to be retrieved and deployed manually. Make package.xml to suit your requirements and create further post-migration steps. If you are using tools such as a workbench, they will get you a set of metadata types to ease the process. Ensure to check the window of dataset edit to avoid discrepancy.

Once your package.xml is ready, here’s the initial phase of deployment-

  • Login in your workbench by using your org’s source credentials
  • Upload your package.xml code in the retrieval window
  • Select the next button
  • Select the retrieve button
  • Download the zip folder
  • Now login in your workbench id by using your credentials of target org
  • Drop your zip folder in the deploy tab
  • Select the next tab
  • Check whether you are in the right org as the deployments are permanent
  • Select deploy
  • Your dashboard is now deployed and ready
